GRAPHICS: 2
Throwing in characters from different games without improving any of the graphics make a very messy title. The Street Fighter III characters look pretty awesome, but when fighting characters from DarkStalkers (sprites from over 10 years ago) the contrast can be blinding. The best part of the game are the comic-styled endings.
MUSIC: 3
Unmemorable. The only theme that really sticks-out is the training tune. The ENTER INITIALS screen is a remix from Rival School's character select screen.
SOUND: 4
The sounds are taken from the various games that the characters come from. Some new sounds for menu selections, etc.
REPLAY: 2
Horrible game mechanics abound. The game even teases you with character cameos in the backgrounds making you wish they were actually in the game. Also, even though the game was called Capcom Fighting Evolution (Jam in Japanese), the only three character rosters were from Street Fighter, DarkStalkers and Red Earth. It may have been cooler to have playable characters from Rival Schools, Power Stone, Mega Man and other Capcom franchises. The only game modes available were Arcade, Training and Versus.
RARITY: 1
You can find it easily in stores now for less than $8.
